Bioscope-wala Abdul Jalil

” I try to show what people like. It also depends on my mood. I create the narrative  and perform it at my pleasure,” shares Abdul Jalil. He is from Bagmara, Rajshahi. He learnt the craft from his father and uncle.

The wooden structure with watch-holes dotted around it is more than twenty years old. Jalil made it by himself. He chooses the images online and get those printed.

“Earlier I used to show images of the Liberation War of Bangladesh,  trial of Khudiram ( Bengali revolutionary) , Beder Meye Josna ( the most successful Dhaka film released in 1989), Rahim-Rupban ( another super hit movie inspired by a popular folk tale), Tajmahal, the Kaaba and the Medina,” Jalil describes in one breath.

Now, his gallery contains images of Royal Bengal Tiger, the current prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Ahsan Manjil, Padma Bridge, Hills in Darjeeling, traffic jam in Dhaka city, Osama Bin Laden, Eiffel Tower along with new photos of Liberation War and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
